Pricing/ Tracks

All levels are self placing (there is no level testing). As such- students are asked to be as honest as possible in their placement of themselves in tracks and understanding of (and welcoming to) the various levels of dancers they will have the opportunity to learn alongside during the weekend. Note that Starting Gate & First Turn are combined as are Second Turn & Final Stretch. Level Descriptions are at the bottom of the page.

Level Descriptions

Starting Gate:

No previous training at all necessary. It’s enough to be able to separate left from right, the rest is up to our teachers, your spirit and interest.

First Turn:
A handful of classes, some practice on your own, the basics under control, a few months of experience or maybe a little bit more. The level indicates that you have understood the fundamentals and are able to execute them.

Second Turn:
This is where the majority of hobby- and general social dancers belong. You are familiar with both rhythms and patterns as well as the technique that comes with it. The level will both try to improve on the execution of fairly basic material, but also provide slightly more spiritual and challenging material.

Final Stretch:
This level is for experienced dancers. We believe that students showing up at this level are confident, technically knowledgable and fairly fluent in the rhythmical language around the dance form. The material in circulation on this level will be challenging from all aspects: rhythmically, technically and tempo wise.
